Dunes of White Sands
White Sands, New Mexico
White Sands National Park comprises a vast 275 square mile sea of pure white gypsum sand dunes. You feel as though you have stepped into a different world of gleaming white, deep blue skies and the green fan palms that occasionally dot the surface. I could make photographs here forever, watching the interplay of light, shadow and curves of the dunes. When Kristen and I stayed here in the winter of 2018 we pitched our tent far out in the dunes and stayed up late to watch the dunes glow under soft moonlight. I rose early to find perfect ripples in the sand each one perfectly etched by the morning light. Photo © copyright by Michael Ambrose.
Metal Prints
The Photograph is developed onto a thin sheet of aluminum using a process called Dye Sublimation. This fantastic process yields a rich glossy print that is incredibly resistant to scratching, and cleanable using normal glass cleaner. The piece appears to "float" on the wall thanks to a subframe. Beautiful, rich and durable, these are the most popular presentation for my larger pieces. Available in sizes up to 8 feet on the long edge.
