The north rim of Tenaya Canyon is one of the most unusual locations in the park. The granite rim has been sculpted into a series of water pockets and beautiful undulating forms. This is a great perspective to gain a sense of the gracefully sublime presence of the "Quarter Domes", the first formation past Half Dome. I love these parts of the park that are always quiet and serene. I spent the entire afternoon watching the breaking storm cast fleeting shadows on the domes while Cliff Sparrows swooped.
