Pueblo Bonito

Chaco Culture National Historic Park, New Mexico

Built over a thousand years ago, and occupied for 300 years, Pueblo Bonito is one of the “Great Houses” of the ancestral Puebloans of what is now New Mexico. There is petroglyph evidence that the original occupants were aware of and interested in the solar and lunar cycles in the orientation of the building and its rooms. I was fascinated by the passages and the mysteries they held. Who lived here? What were their lives like? Photo © copyright by Michael Ambrose.

The Photograph is printed on a thin sheet of aluminum. The piece appears to "float" on the wall thanks to a subframe. Beautiful, rich, and durable, these are my most popular presentation for my larger pieces.
