Wild Iris & Sierra Wave
Eastern Sierra
Following the massive winter of 2023, the Eastern Sierra has been inundated with water. I had photographed wild Iris for sunrise this day and made some satisfying images, however when I saw the cloud formation known as "The Sierra Wave" forming in the afternoon, I knew I had to return for sunset. I was accompanied by my friend Nolan from the Sierra Light Gallery in Mammoth. He knew exactly where to be at sunset since this is his backyard. The "Wave" lit up beautifully, and I was perfectly positioned to make this fantastic photograph. Photo © copyright by Michael Ambrose.
